A picture of a working handwriting window is not a great way to punctuate my lament of Vista’s halting problems. I’ve framed the image a little better and, added alt text too.

I have to say that after a couple more patches the handwriting recognition is much more stable. Occasional “not responding” issues, seem increasingly occasional.

The quality of recognition is excellent. You don’t even have to punch through anything with exclamation marks as shown above. Often it recognises text I would have no hope of reading 10 minutes after I write it.

” but AFAICS shows a handwritten “Recognize this!” and the Input Tablet recognizing “Recognize” and “This!”
Perhaps cultural sensibility was an extra cost option :-)
