		<description>I think that&#039;s an ATI Mobility Video Card in the D600.  My first suspicion would be the video drivers.  Most of the problems with our ancient family Dell 8100 luggable were ATI driver-related. Problems usually related to the poor installer leaving old files behind, rather than the drivers themselves.

That said, this story also reminds me (probably spuriously) of a friend with Acer or Asus laptop (with some kind of ATI graphics hardware) of about the same vintage which would overheat and spontaneously shut down during games in the European Summer.  Not WoW - this was Everquest.
