		<description>I&#039;ve seen two separate suggestions that Michael Egan didn&#039;t so much leave (in order to have a go at federal politics) as he was jettisoned well prior to the next election. The timing of his exit means that the the media is far too busy to do a thorough job of examining his achievements in the areas of privatisation, tax reform and providing funds for public infrastructure, health and education. 

However, I reckon it&#039;s more good fortune than good planning.</description>
